UC DAVIS HEALTH SUPPORTS
SUNDAY ON THE GREEN 2024
Sunday on the Green tees off to fund blood cancer research.
On April 4, 2024, UC Davis Health published this article to support the Better Life Foundation's fundraising efforts.
“During the course of my cancer treatment, I was the beneficiary of the dedication, compassion, and selfless service of Dr. Tuscano,” Loel Heupel said. “Creating a non-profit, fundraising foundation to support his team’s blood cancer research was a way to show gratitude for the positive impact he has had on so many patients' lives."

RIDE FOR DADS
Mary Caulder and Valerie Antkowiak both lost their fathers to blood cancers. They stood by their dads as they battled these diseases for many years, consisting of both triumph and despair. The two women became friends as members of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training cycle team, and along with their partners Laura Hollis and Mark Pallone, formed Ride for Dads. Together, this group of passionate athletes are dedicated to raising money to benefit cancer research as Ride for Dads and to honoring the memories of Jack Caulder and Jerry Antkowiak.
*Better Life Foundation assisted with Ride for Dads' 2018-2019 fundraising efforts.
